The Society of Bluffton Artists Presents Mary Sullivan

This summer, the Society of Bluffton Artists is presenting their featured artist Mary Sullivan beginning June 4, 2012 and ending July 14.  Mary Sullivan’s work, along with the work of over 90 other local artists,  will be on display at the Society of Bluffton Artists Gallery, located in Old Town Bluffton at the corner of Church Street and Calhoun Street.  The gallery is open from 10:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the evening Monday through Saturday, and from 1:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon on Sundays.  There will be a special reception for Mary Sullivan on Sunday, June 10 from 3:00 to 5:00.

This exhibit will feature new works never before exhibited.  The artist refers to her latest exhibit as “Time and Timelessness,” which evolved from the first new work in the series, “Keeping Time Dancing for Joy.”  The combination of dancing and the timelessness of music inspired her to continue to pursue both time and timelessness as a theme.  The majority of Mary Sullivan’s work, including most of the work in this exhibit, uses the medium of poured ink abstracts.  In addition, two other techniques will be on display, both of which originated and evolved from her use of the poured ink medium.  For more information on this and other exhibits, contact the Society of Bluffton Artists at (843) 757-6586 or visit their website at http://www.socblufftonartist.com/.
